Cued Speech S.A. was founded by Lynette and Richard Diederichs early in 2007 after much planning, discussion, consultation and encouragement from members of the Cued Speech Association U.K., the National Cued Speech Association of America , friends and family .
The headquarters of Cued Speech SA is based in the Midlands region of Kwa Zulu Natal on a five acre property near the village of Mid Illovo.

Cued Speech S.A. is still in its infancy but aims to promote and support the effective use of Cued Speech for communication, language acquisition and literacy for the deaf and hard of hearing through:
Information and support via telephone, fax and email Promotion of early infant screening for hearing and parent education Organising courses, workshops, conferences and Cued Speech Camps Position Statements of Cued Speech Professional standards for the use of Cued Speech Training and certification of parents, instructors, teachers, Cued Speech Transliterators and potential job opportunities.

Cued Speech SA Foundation Courses will be run at Camp Shebaniah, a small campsite that caters for family, church & school groups. When the situation warrants it, other venues in Southern Africa may be used to run Cued Speech Courses.
Both CSSA and Camp Shebaniah are based on the same five acre property in Mid Illovo, which is approximately 60 Km from Pietermaritzburg and 90 Km from Durban.
